Celebrating a 50th Birthday with a Bespoke Drone Light Show

Last weekend we got to do something really special, a drone light show for a 50th birthday. For us, it’s never just about flying drones, it’s about bringing someone’s story to life in the sky.

In the lead-up to the night, we spent time getting to know the birthday host and what mattered most to him. He’s a keen cyclist, recently got engaged, and of course was celebrating a big milestone. Those little details shaped the whole show. Our team sketched out ideas and then turned them into a live performance, carefully planning how each drone would move and come together.

When the show started, Coldplay’s Sky Full of Stars played. The drones moved in patterns that reflected his story and set the tone for the evening. Later, the music shifted to Viva La Vida, giving the performance a big, uplifting finish that carried through to the finale.

Every moment was timed to the music, ending in a star-filled sequence that lit up the night. It was a show made just for him, personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.
